The Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care - Level 2 is a course that is designed to provide Learners who are interested in working in the Adult Social Care sector or those learners who seek to know more about this sector. It will give learners adequate knowledge and understanding of the care sector and some of the roles in it.
The Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care - Level 3 is a course that is designed to provide Learners who are thinking of or are just starting a career in Adult Social Care. It will give Learners adequate supporting knowledge and understanding of the health care sector, as well as their role within to aim of this qualification, is to develop some of the knowledge required and key details of the role a social care worker performs, including safeguarding, communication, equality, diversity and inclusion among others.
Taking this course learners will have to consider making use of progression into further courses that give in-depth knowledge of the care sector.
Learners will gain knowledge and understanding of the following areas that relate to working in Adult Social Care:

- Principles of personal development in adult social care settings

The aim of the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care is to confirm occupational competence for Adult Care Workers or Healthcare Support Workers.
This qualification is vocationally based and allows Learners to develop and demonstrate key competence that is required in areas of health and social care.
Learners would develop the knowledge, understanding, and practical skills that are related to the specified job position.

The Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) is designed to develop the health and social care workers, who have key responsibilities for delivery of care and support at a team leader or supervision level.

There are 2 ‘pathways’ available to learners depending on the environment in which they work - Generic or Clinical.

The Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care is designed for Senior Carers and other Carers in a senior position / working within the Adult Care Sector.
This qualification is aimed to support a team leader, assistant manager to develop specialist knowledge and skills in their area of responsibility and enable learners to promote a person-centered values-based culture within the care setting.

It is achieved through a portfolio of evidence which will consist of observations, discussions, questioning, witness statements, reflective learning journals, and other forms of evidence.

What Learners will learn?
Learners must accrue 90 credits to achieve the Level 5 Diploma in Adult Care Learners, a minimum of 66 of these credits must be at/above Level 5.
Learners must take the 6 Shared Core Mandatory Units, 5 Mandatory Adults’ Advanced Practice Pathway Units (51 credits), and the remaining 39 credits from Option units, which are decided by one of 5 optional pathways, as follows:
- Adults’ Residential Management pathway
- Adults Management pathway
- Adults’ Advanced Practice pathway
- Children and Young People’s Advanced Practice pathway
- Children’s and Young people’s Management pathway
The optional pathway will be selected base on the learner working role in an appropriate setting, or have the opportunity to carry out responsibilities associated with these roles,
